Events at Chatsworth 2024 –

Chatsworth House and Gardens, and indeed the whole Estate is a fantastic place to visit.  It has something for everybody including Chatsworth Farmyard and PlaygroundThe House, Gardens and Playground have daily activities, but if you’re looking for a special event at Chatsworth House, then you can expect to find events all year round.  We’ve compiled a list of some of the events coming up in 2024, and don’t forget if you are looking for something in the winter months then there’s plenty going on during Christmas at Chatsworth

16th February – Winter talk series: Peeling back the layers of Chatsworth

Learn about some of the discoveries made in a recent archaeological survey, a task undertaken during the Chatsworth Masterplan, the biggest project of it’s kind since the 1800s.

17th February – Get Drawing in Winter

If you are interested in learning how to draw this is your opportunity to get tuition from an expert.  Create a series of drawings of seasonal plants, landscapes and trees.

Dry Stone Walling for Beginners

13th April – 14th April
4th May – 5th May
11th June – 12th June

A two day course held over a weekend. Expert guidance will see you return home knowing the basics of how to build a dry stone wall.

Parkland Walking Tour

Guided walks in Chatsworth Park with an expert from the landscape team.  Get to know the landscape and woods, animals and wildlife of the Chatsworth Estate.

1st March – Introducing Picturing Childhood

Gill Hart, Chatsworth’s Head of Learning and Engagement, leads an illustrated discussion on the history of childhood from the Tudors to the present day.  Refreshments are included and they will be a Q&A session at the end.

5th – 8th April – Evening Lambing

The evening includes a talk about sheep and farming at Chatsworth.  A chance to care for the cade lambs and carry out the evening sheep and lamb checks.

17h May – 19th May – Chatsworth International Horse Trials

A weekend of high quality equestrian eventing, including world class dressage, show jumping and cross country.  Entertainment for all the family including a shopping village with over 100 stands and dog agility.

30th August – 1st September – Chatsworth Country Fair

The Chatsworth Country Fair attracts tens of thousands of visitors and features displays both in the grand ring and in the air as well as demonstrations from celebrity chefs.  A fantastic event for the whole family.
