The Matlock Victorian Christmas Market has become a major event in the town’s calendar.
Over the weekend Hall Leys Park is transformed into a traditional Victorian Market, with over 200 stalls and including gifts, jewellery, pottery, carvings, toys and clothes, the market makes for a great day out for all the family.
There’s mulled wine on offer for the adults, and for the younger members of the family, an opportunity to see Santa arrive on his sleigh as he parades on horse driven carriage through the town at 4:15pm on Saturday evening, just before the Christmas lights are switched on.
There’s also fairground rides and entertainment in the bandstand, as well as the grand finale on Sunday night, which ends with a firework display over Matlock.

Matlock Town is just a few miles down the A6 from our where or holiday cottages are located in Two Dales. If you want to leave the car and you’re feeling fit Matlock is close enough to walk (it’s OK there’s no hills), or you could choose to catch the bus which will take you right into the town centre.
