For the past few years now, Hall Leys Park Matlock plays host to the Matlock Food and Drink Festival.
Street food, bars, artisan stalls, gifts and craft stalls, entertainment and dog friendly.
Matlock is a provincial town in the Peak District, and is situated just five miles from the Peak District National Park. The town’s park, Hall Leys Park, is situated right in the middle of the town and makes a wonderful location for festivals and events, with the rest of Matlock’s fascinating shops, bars and restaurants being just a stone’s throw away.
Matlock’s Food and Drink Festival will provide a mouth watering array of foods from all over the world both hot and cold, a bar, artisan stall and a selection of craft and gift stalls.
The bar will be selling a selection of craft ales, ciders, a fabulous gin bar, prosecco and Pimm’s.
There will be live music all weekend on the bandstand from local artists and children’s entertainment with have a go activities including meeting the parrots.
Bring your chairs and your family. Dogs welcome.
The River Derwent runs right along the side of Hall Leys Park providing a central point of the Town. There’s a fantastic walk along the Derwent, which can take you either onto Matlock Bath or up onto the cliffs at High Tor.
Hall Leys Park also has a kids playground with kids paddling pool and toilets. Centrally located in the Park is a Cafe selling all the usual refreshments and snacks and close by is a second toilet block – so need to worry about being caught short.
With great weather this will make for a stunning weekend in a stunning location in this up and coming and thriving Derbyshire town.

Finally, if you have a large party (10+) then we have the fantastic Escape, a large self catering holiday cottage in the Peak District with hot tub and pool table. The Escape has 5 bedrooms of luxury, with two double rooms, and two twin rooms (one with ground floor access). There’s also a room with a bunkbed. The Escape is ideal for a large group. It has it’s own covered hot tub and a games room with additional room for sleeping. This is a great venue if you have a big occasion to celebrate. You won’t be disappointed.
All our holiday cottages are less than 3 miles from Matlock. Driving takes less than 10 mins, or you could opt to catch the Transpeak bus along the A6 into the heart of Matlock.
