Join the festive celebrations at the Bakewell Christmas Weekend, a much-loved event held in the heart of this beautiful Peak District town. Each year, the streets and market square are transformed into a winter wonderland, filled with lights, music, and more than 100 stalls offering handmade gifts, crafts, and seasonal food and drink.
Throughout the weekend, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The line-up includes performances from the Matlock Tuneless Choir, Bakewell Community Choir, and Bakewell Silver Band, with The Salvation Army, Castleton Silver Band, and the ever-popular Bakewell Billerettes entertaining visitors on Sunday.
Children can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse, take part in Rachel’s Magical Entertainment, and enjoy a range of funfair rides. A bird of prey display will also take place, and little ones can send their letters to Santa at the Granby Café in the Granby Arcade.
With its lively music, festive shopping, and family activities, the Bakewell Christmas Weekend offers a wonderful way to celebrate the season. After a day of exploring, visitors can relax in one of the many cosy cottages near Bakewell, perfect for a festive getaway in the Peak District.

Do you need somewhere to stay near Bakewell? Bakewell is just 12 minutes from our luxury holiday homes in Derbyshire in the car and there’s plenty of parking by the Agricultural Business Centre. If you want to leave the car, then you could hop on the Transpeak bus, which will take you down the A6 into the heart of Bakewell.
Why not choose one of our luxury cottages situated in the Peak District. Our cottages are approximately 5 miles from Bakewell and less than 3 miles from Matlock.
