Chatsworth Farmyard, Chatsworth Gardens and Chatsworth House

Our luxury self catering holiday homes in Derbyshire, are just a few miles from Chatsworth House and Chatsworth Farmyard.

The House is the home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire and holds 16 generations of history that not only reflects many aspects of the family’s residency throughout the centuries, but also the role of the House in the history of Britain itself.

The Farmyard is situated right next door to the house and gardens (same car park), and offers an amazing variety of things to do for the kids, from a huge outdoor activity playground to getting up close with both domestic and farmyard animals.

If you need to tear your kids away from the amazing playground, you can treat them to other activities such as the animal handling in the Oak Barn, looking after Guinea Pigs in the Guinea pig village, and then there’s the trailer rides around the farmyard, and also don’t forget the daily milking demonstration at 3:30pm every day.

chatsworth gardensThe Gardens are a 105 acre work of art in themselves, but also include many points of interest such historic and modern sculptures and water features. There are activities for all the family including the Victorian maze and the famous waterfall, which on hot day is great for dipping the toes in and cooling off.

If the House, Gardens and Farmyard aren’t enough to occupy you, then there’s always the option of going for a walk in Chatsworth Park or visiting St Peter’s Church in the picturesque village or Endsor, a community right in the heart of Chatsworth Park.

On any visit to Chatsworth House and all the things the Chatsworth has to offer, make sure you plan your day and get there early, there’s so much to do you might struggle to fit it all in.

Many of the daily activities take place between Spring and Autumn, so please check the Chatsworth House website before setting off, but don’t worry if you’re out of season, Chatsworth is open all year round and there’s always something to do.
