Property Terms and Conditions

When you book your holiday at Derbyshire Holiday Homes, you are agreeing to the following Terms and Conditions:

1. BOOKING AND DEPOSIT

1.1 Your holiday may be reserved by telephone or email. Your chosen dates will then be held for 10 days from the date or your reservation pending receipt of your deposit.

1.2. To secure your booking, we require a deposit of 30%

We will then email you a Booking Confirmation. Please ensure the details are correct and advise us immediately if there are any errors.

2. PAYMENT

2.1. The full balance is payable 8 weeks prior to arrival.

2.2. If you have booked your holiday within 8 weeks of arrival, then the full accommodation cost is required straight away.

2.3. Please make cheques payable to Mr N. J. Briddon and post to Wheatley Lodge, Halldale Lane, Off Hallmoor Road, Darley Dale, Matlock, Derbyshire. DE4 2HF.

2.4. If the remaining balance is not received 8 weeks before your arrival day, the deposit will be forfeited and we will be entitled to re-let the property.

2.5. No VAT is charged on the price of your holiday. We are therefore unable to provide you with a VAT invoice.

3. CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

3.1. In the event of cancellation, please do so in writing by emailing. Deposits are non-refundable.

3.2. In the event of cancellation by you we will try and re-sell your booking if cancelled within reasonable time frame. If we do re-sell it may be at a discounted price. We will refund you the cost of what we have re-sold for, less any deposit plus administration costs of £35.00. If we cannot re-sell we will not be able to refund you or offer you alternative dates. (Please note if a booking is cancelled within 7 weeks of arrival date, no refund will be available).

3.3. In the event of cancellation due to adverse weather, we will not be able to offer a refund. We strongly recommended that you take out holiday insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances.

4. NON-AVAILABILITY

4.1. We would only cancel your holiday if your accommodation were unavailable for reasons beyond our control. Our liability will be restricted to repayment of the deposit/balance received from you to date. We will not be liable for providing you with alternative accommodation.

5. ARRIVAL TIME/KEY COLLECTION

5.1. Derbyshire Dales Holiday Homes are available from 4.00pm on the day of arrival.

5.2. You will be advised where to collect keys from before arrival.

6. DEPARTURE

6.1. The property must be vacated by 10.00am on the day of departure to enable us to make it ready for the next guests.

7. USE OF THE PROPERTY

7.1. The number of guests should not exceed the amount stated for sleeping at the property at any one time. If you exceed the number your party will be asked to leave.

7.2. Guests must use the cottage for personal and domestic purposes only and not commercial purposes. We reserve the right to refuse entry to the party if these conditions are not observed.

8. SMOKING

No smoking is allowed in the property

9. CARE OF THE PROPERTY

9.1. All guests agree to take all reasonable and proper care of the property, and furniture, fixtures and fittings in or on the property, and leave them in the same state of repair and condition and in the same clean and tidy condition at the end of the rental period, as at the beginning.

9.2. If furnishings, fixtures or fittings are damaged during your stay, you will be liable for their repair or replacement. However, we do appreciate that accidents can happen, so we won’t charge for small breakages that happen because of day-to-day use. All we ask is that any breakages or damages are advised to us during your stay so that remedial action can be taken as soon as possible.

10. LIABILITY

10.1. We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions in or around the holiday cottage during your stay.

11. RIGHT OF ENTRY

11.1. We reserve the right of reasonable access to the cottage at all times, but where possible, we would advise you in advance if access were required.

11.2. Hot tub checks – We will be carrying out the required water tests twice a day.

12. Parking: We provide private off street parking for 4 cars.
